Kettle New York Cheddar with Herbs Kettle Chips Review

Rating:

Kettle ChipsKettle Brand Kettle Chips (hope we haven't lost you already), are potato chips that are hand cooked in a big vat (they call it a kettle). The chips are not your regular thin, flaky potato chips, but instead, they are thick and crunchy. Kettle Foods does not add any artificial flavors, sweeteners or preservatives to their products, and try their best to include all natural ingredients. I tried the New York Cheddar with Herbs flavor, and all I can say is, "Yummy". It's hard to put down the bag once you start. The cheese flavoring wasn't coming off on my fingers, and they are not very salty - which, being somewhat of a salt addict, took me a very short time to get used to. This is one of my favorite flavors of Kettle Chips.

The Kettle Brand New York Cheddar with Herbs Kettle Chips are 150 calories per 1 ounce serving (about 14 chips). This is about the same as most other chips, but the difference is in the fat. There are 9 grams of total fat (14% of the recommended daily amount), but only 1 gram is saturated (5% of the RDA), because they use sunflower oil. They are low in sodium, with only 8% of the RDA (190 milligrams) and have 2 grams of protein and 15 grams of total carbohydrate - 1 gram of sugar and fiber.

The only negative to these chips is the price, which is about $3.00 for a 5 ounce bag, about twice that of regular chips. Still I loved the crunch and the flavor of this product, and there is something about the thicker texture which makes me not eat the entire bag in one sitting. They are definitely worth trying.
