Food Should Taste Good Cinnamon Tortilla ChipsOver the course of a few weeks, I kept encountering information about the company Food Should Taste Good. One way or another, I found my way to their website and I oohed and aahed about several of the flavors like Sweet Potato, Cinnamon, and Chocolate. Well, when I saw the chips on sale at my local grocery store for $2.69 I couldn't resist, and into my cart when the Cinnamon flavor. Food Should Taste good says, "all natural ground cinnamon baked inside a rich corn tortilla chip creates an entirely new and delicious flavor profile that will satisfy both sweet and savory cravings." With a description like that, I couldn't wait to see if these chips could handle an actual dessert craving.

Despite being touted as a dessert, the "naked" chip is corn based so it still has the great crunch of a traditional tortilla chip. However, the cinnamon chip still manages to have a very distinct sweet and cinnamon flavor. The chips are similar to Stacy's Cinnamon Sugar pita chips, but crunchier and without the mess of sugar all over your hands (or clothes and the surrounding area in my case). Given that the Food Should Taste Good chips feel and taste less oily than Stacy's, I was surprised to find the nutritional information almost identical.

A serving of cinnamon chips is an ounce (about 12 chips) and contains 140 calories, 7 grams of fat which is 11% of the daily value, 2 grams of protein, 11% of the daily value for fiber (4 grams) and 4 grams of sugars.

The ingredient list is wonderful; it's short and every word is familiar, just as an "all natural product should be: stone ground corn, high oleic sunflower oil and/or safflower oil, evaporated cane juice, cinnamon, corn bran and sea salt.

I can see these chips being perfect for a movie and fireplace. The company also recommends that you match them with sweet dips like hazelnut spread or apple butter. I have taken to pulverizing the chips and sprinkling in my yogurt or oatmeal for added crunch and cinnamon flavor without getting soggy like most cereals or adding a ton of calories like granola does. One thing to watch out for is the fat content,s o don't eat too much at once.

Even if the chips weren't $2.69, as the usual price is closer to $3.49, I think the taste and ingredient list make this a worthwhile treat. Carefully though, they are addictive and there's 6 servings in a bag!
