On a previous occasion, I tried Knudsen Blueberry Cottage Doubles. The blueberry mixture seemed too sweet and overpowered the cottage cheese, so I decided to try another variety and opted for Knudsen Peach Cottage Doubles, which I bought for $1.89.
What I found when I opened the package was a nicely sweet (but not too sweet) and spiced peach jelly that went surprisingly well with the cottage cheese. I liked the milder fruit flavor, and thought this combination was definitely a winner - and I'm not even a huge peach fan! Knudsen hit it out the park with this combination.
Each 156-gram container of Knudsen Peach Cottage Doubles provides 140 calories, 4% and 8% of the daily value for total and saturated fat, 16% of the DV for sodium, no fiber, 14 grams of sugar and 11 grams of protein. The ingredients list does include high fructose corn syrup in the peach mixture.
The peach flavor of Knudsen Cottage Doubles is really too delicious, and I would definitely buy it again. I try to limit the amount of sugar in my diet, so this would be a semi-regular treat. I'm excited to try and make this on my own, by mixing cottage cheese with fresh peaches and a little sweetener, Sweet Leaf Stevia or Susta.
