Weetabix Organic Crispy Flakes & Fiber Cereal

Weetabix Organic Crispy Flakes & Fiber Cereal has the Whole Grain Council Stamp on the packaging for having 28 grams or more per serving, plus the "Heart Healthy" and "USDA Organic" stamps as well - clear indications that this is supposed to be one "good for you" cereal. A look at the nutrition facts & ingredients label confirms this.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 55 grams (1.25 cups)
Calories: 170
Total Fat: 1.5 grams, 2%
Saturated Fat: 0%
Sodium: 320 mg, 13%
Carbohydrates: 44 grams
Fiber: 11 grams, 44%
Sugar: 10 grams
Protein: 6 grams

The ingredients are all organic - whole wheat, wheat bran, dehydrated cane juice, oat hull fiber, barley malt extract, oat bran, sea salt, baking soda, annatto and a vitamin blend (detailed on the packaging & website).

Each 55 gram serving of Weetabix Organic Crispy Flakes & Fiber Cereal provides 170 calories, 1.5 grams of total fat, 310 mg of sodium (13% of the daily value), 11 grams of fiber (44% of the DV), 10 grams of sugars and 6 grams of protein.

And now we get to the taste. When it's not the first thing I mention, that usually means it wasn't the best thing about the product - and that's the case here. It's not bad, just pretty bland. This cereal is slightly sweet, very crunchy, but no other apparent flavor. But as I said, it's not bad - it's the type of cereal that people who prefer nutrition over taste will eat - and that's me sometimes. It's also a nice accent. Add chunks of a whole banana and just a wee bit of milk, and crunch away. That's my favorite way to eat this and them it's actually pretty good.

A 12 ounce box of Weetabix Organic Crispy Flakes & Fiber Cereal cost $4.29 at my local grocery store, so it's on the expensive side, but for the clean ingredients list as well as all that fiber plus protein, I would buy this again, even over Fiber One Cereal with Honey Clusters Review, but the ingredients are certainly better.
