Post Honey Nut Shredded Wheat Review
Shredded wheat cereal is a staple in my snacking repertoire because of it's portability and pop-ability (think munching in the back of a classroom!) I picked up the Post Honey Nut Shredded Wheat instead of my usual frosted choice and I have to say that I was blown away with the delicately sweet and nice nutty flavor. Another thing that I found absolutely awesome about the Honey Nut Shredded Wheat was the texture.
The other brand that I buy, Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats, was really crumbly and could get quite messy with little strings of wheat ricocheting every which way. The Post variety, however, was nice and compact. To visualize the difference think of the Kellogg's Frosted Mini Wheats as being a roll of stringy yarn, and the Post Honey Nut Shredded Wheats as being a nicely woven net.

The nutrition is pretty impressive too: For a satisfying 52 gram serving (I measured it out to be about 30 Wheats), you clock in at a reasonable 190 calories. There is a nice dose of fiber, 5 grams to be exact. The sugar is fairly low too (12 grams) compared to some of the other mainstream sugary cereals out on the shelves today and most of the sugar it does have is from a natural source, honey. There is only 2% of daily total fat recommendations and no saturated or trans fat.
I haven't tried these with milk yet and I don't think I will ... I like the crunchy texture and the addition of milk would turn this quality into mushiness. I bought the cereal on sale for the wallet-pleasing price of 2.15 at Winn-Dixie. It's also available online at Amazon.com [link]. I am most definitely keeping this in my cabinet as a quick and easy snack option for my on-the-go lifestyle.
