Nature's Path Optimum Strawberry & Yogurt CerealI was out of my Kashi Good Friends Cereal the other day, and I decided that, after having made my way through my 6-box shipment of the aforementioned cereal from Amazon.com, I should probably try something new. I looked for those wonderful sale signs in the grocery store and found Nature's Path Optimum Strawberry & Yogurt Cereal at just $2.50 per box. I couldn't help myself - I love anything yogurt accented (yogurt pretzels, yogurt-covered almonds, yogurt ... I love it all). I popped a box into my cart right away, eager to try my new cereal find.

Nature's Path says the Optimum Strawberry & Yogurt Cereal, is for people who want to have their "cake" - in the form of delicious, organics strawberries and yogurt covered crispies - and eat it too. And it's vegetarian too. Wow - such boasting - but is it true?

I poured myself a bowl and ate a few pieces sans milk and I really liked this stuff. It reminds me of Kashi Good Friends in that there are flakes and "twigs," but there are also dried strawberries and yogurt-covered rice crisps, as well as plain puffed rice. The flavor of the cereal itself wasn't super fruity, aka not too sweet, which was a good thing in my book. I soon added milk and ate the entire bowl - it was delicious.

A 1 cup serving of Nature's Path Optimum Strawberry & Yogurt Cereal provides 170 calories, 5% of the daily value for total and saturated fat, 8% of the DV for sodium, 28% of the DV for fiber, 13 grams of sugar and 5 grams of protein (check the ingredients list at their website) - organic wholesome ingredients.

Bottom line: I like this cereal a lot and will definitely buy it again.
