I first tried and reviewed Kashi GoLean Crisp Toasted Berry Crumble Cereal back in 2010, and I thought an update was in order. I added a picture of the actual product, the nutrition facts have changed slightly for the better, and I noticed that I bought it for the same price in 2013 as in 2010 - $3.29 on sale.
As the name implies, Kashi GoLean Crisp Toasted Berry Crumble Cereal has a nice crisp to it thanks to a variety of different puffed cereals. Straight out of the box, it's a few steps down from granola on a hardness scale, reminding me of a graham cracker in some ways. When the milk hits, it begins to soften, but not to the point of losing all of its crispiness. There are berries nestled within most of the clusters that add the typical chewiness that you would expect from dried fruit. There is also a sweetness to this cereal - not too much, not too little, but just right.
Each 3/4 cup (51 gram) serving of Kashi GoLean Crisp Toasted Berry Crumble Cereal provides 180 calories, 3.5 grams of total fat, 8 grams of fiber (30% of the daily value), 10 grams of sugars and 9 grams of protein.
The ingredient list is fairly straight forward starting with whole grain oats. The protein source is soy protein concentrate and there doesn't seem to be any high fructose corn syrup - instead, it looks like they use evaporated can juice.
A 3/4 cup serving is not that much, and I had about 2 times that, but was satisfied and fulfilled until lunch. Kashi GoLean Crisp Toasted Berry Crumble Cereal is one cereal that I would definitely buy again.
