Barbaras Bakery Peanut Butter Puffins CerealBarbara's Bakery's Peanut Butter Puffins Cereal is all-natural and low in fat as well as wheat free. Having heard a lot of good things about , I knew I had to try it. I consider myself somewhat of a peanut butter connoisseur, so I tend to be picky when it comes to foods that are peanut butter flavored. In this case, I was extremely pleased with the taste which their website describes as "crunchy, lightly sweetened corn pillows made with real peanut butter." I would describe the taste as a less sweet version of Peanut Butter Captain Crunch, or similar to the peanut butter balls in Reese's Peanut Butter Puffs Cereal. This makes it quite delicious for snacking without milk as well, although I prefer them in milk and love that they stay crunchy and delicious.

One serving of Peanut Butter Puffins (¾ cup) contains a reasonable 110 calories, 2 grams of total fat and 0.5 grams of saturated fat (both of which are 2% of the RDA), no trans fat or cholesterol, 230 mg of sodium (10% of the RDA), 2 grams of fiber (8% of the RDA), only 6 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein. The ingredient list is short and sweet, consisting of only Corn Meal, Dehydrated Cane Juice, Natural Peanut Butter (Ground Peanuts, Salt), Oat Flour, Rice Flour, Sea Salt, Vitamin E, and Baking Soda.

I would probably eat this cereal everyday if it weren't so low in fiber as I prefer to fill up on high fiber carbohydrates in the morning. Still, the other stats are very impressive and the cereal is perfectly sweet despite being low in sugar. Like many all-natural cereals, it does not contain extra added vitamins and minerals.

I purchased this cereal for about $4 at my grocery store, and it was so worth it. The all-natural ingredients cause it to cost more than others, but it's not too steep a price to pay and I would highly recommend this cereal to my fellow peanut butter lovers as a breakfast or a healthy snack on the run. It is a great way to satisfy those peanut butter cravings without downing an entire jar of your favorite salty and sweet treat.
