Wheatables Review
I am always searching for healthy snacks that taste good and since Wheatables has that nice 'Made with Whole Grain' label on the front, I figured I would give this a try. I really liked it. The crackers are crunchy with a slightly sweet taste, but without all the sugars you would normally see, in fact there are only 4 g sugars. One thing with whole grain products (or this might just be me) is that the bits of whole grain in the product tend to get left over in the teeth, so that a few minutes later, you are still basically snacking on left over grain.
Nutritionally, this is okay - not particularly great, but certainly not bad. There are 140 calories per serving of 16 crackers, 6 g of fat (could be better), but only 1 g of saturated fat. I was a little disappointed with the fiber content which is only 1 g, and there really aren't any vitamins or minerals in this product (except for 4% iron). The verdict: this is not bad for you, but maybe not as good for you as you might have thought originally from all the whole grain hype.
