ZonePerfect Indulgence Nutrition Squares (German Chocolate Cheesecake) Review

When I got an email asking if I wanted to try the new ZonePerfect Indulgence Nutrition Squares, I said yes without hesitation. I've already expressed my undying love for all things ZonePerfect All Natural Bars (the ZonePerfect Dark Chocolate Nutrition Bars are definitely tops on my list), and I was excited to see what new products the company had come up with.

I decided to try the German Chocolate Cheesecake variety first, because ... well ... it's German Chocolate Cheesecake! The description says these squares feature whipped cheesecake flavor, real coconut and a chocolaty drizzle topped with crunchy nuts. I unwrapped my 45 gram square and took a bite. Mmmmm, this square is chocolaty deliciousness is so good . The bar had a few different layers - one with the cheesecake filling, one with chocolate, and the aforementioned nuts and coconut on the top layer; there was even a drizzle of chocolate to boot! I loved the texture of this bar - chewy and satisfying, with a nice crunch.

With such a decadent chocolate taste, I was really curious about what the nutrition facts would reveal. Each 45 gram serving of ZonePerfect German Chocolate Cheesecake Indulgence Nutrition Squares provides 180 calories, 9% of the daily value for total fat, 18% of the DV for saturated fat, 160 mg of sodium (7% of the DV), 1 gram of fiber, 15 grams of sugar and 10 grams of protein. There is also a slew of vitamins and minerals including a full 90% of the DV for Vitamin E, but the ingredients list is quite lengthy given that this is an "all-natural" bar.

The 10 grams of protein are nothing to sneeze at, but neither is the 18% of the daily value for saturated fat. This makes this more of a treat for me than anything else, and a delicious one at that. As I mentioned before, I got mine free from the company, but they are available online at $46.84 for a case of 24.
