Werther's Sugar Free Caramels Review

Werthers Sugar Free CaramelsOne of the things I'm trying to do this year is cut back on my sugar consumption. With my health history, eating sugars and processed carbs leads me to well ... binge. If I steer (somewhat) clear of them I tend to do pretty well. But I am still a sucker for anything sweet. I would not be able to give them up entirely, so I was elated when I found Werthers Sugar Free Caramels. Back in the day I was fond of the originals Werthers, so I decided to give these a try.

These hard candies did not disappoint. They were perfectly buttery and caramelicious (yeah-that's right, I'm making that a word). A couple of these were perfect for satisfying my sweet tooth. Even though they are small, they last awhile. I consider that a good thing because they keep my mouth busy and steers me away from eating out of boredom.

A 5 piece serving of Werthers Sugar Free Caramels provides 40 calories, 1 grams of fat, no carbohydrates (or proteins) and 14 grams of sugar alcohols). The ingredient lists is fairly short as well: Isomalt, butter, cream, artificial flavoring, soy lecithin, and acesulfame-K.

I was a little surprised at the calorie count of these - although not high, I guess I'm used to seeing little or no calorie mints. Still, these are yummy and you can suck and suck for a while. This will surely satisfy your sweet tooth and maybe help keep you from too much late night snacking.

These are available online (Amazon.com) at $21.94 for 12 2.75 ounce bags. I would definitely reach for these again.
