Smart Balance All Natural Rich Roast Creamy Peanut ButterI'm trying to get the family to switch to some "better for you" products and the other day I tackled their peanut butter choice. I don't eat a lot of PB myself, but I wanted to see if I could get them to like a natural product that doesn't use hydrogenated oils (like Jif Creamy). Smart Balance All Natural Rich Roast Creamy Peanut Butter looked like a promising candidate, so I decided to try it.

From my perspective, the taste was fantastically peanutty and delicious. It was smooth and creamy and everything you would expect peanut butter to be. From the kids perspective, they loved it - I didn't tell them it was different from the brand that's normally bought. The ingredients in Smart Balance All Natural Rich Roast Creamy Peanut Butter are, Peanuts, Evaporated Cane Juice, Natural Oil Blend (Palm Fruit and Flaxseed Oils), Salt, Molasses.

A 2 tbsp serving of Smart Balance All Natural Rich Roast Creamy Peanut Butter provides 190 calories, 24% and 15% of the daily value for total and saturated fat, 8% of the DV for fiber, 3 grams of sugars and 7 grams of protein. The nutrition facts are about standard for most peanut butters.

I bought a 16 ounce jar for about $2.50. As usual, peanut butter is not something you want to eat too much of when you're trying to cut calories, plus, a little goes a long way anyhow. In this case, this all natural peanut butter is a great substitute for some other, not so natural, brands.
