I Can't Believe It's Not Butter Spray (made with Extra Virgin Olive Oil)

Do you use oil sprays? it's rare that there's not at least one around. I usually buy a store-brand olive oil spray, but I was recently sent I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (Olive Oil) Spray to try out.

For me, one of the main uses of a buttery spray will be with popcorn. It's rare that I'll actually use melted butter, since I make popcorn on the stove-top a few nights a week - and that would just be too much added fat. So last night, I settled in to watch one of my favorites shows on the tele, The Good Wife, with a bowl of popcorn sprayed liberally with I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (Olive Oil) Spray and sprinkled with salt.

One thing this buttery spray gave the popcorn that my old stand-by store-brand spray did not, is the actual taste of butter ... surprisingly similar to what it would have tasted like if I had used melted butter. I really liked this - and there are no calories in 5 sprays (a "0" on a nutrition label really means less than 4 calories).

The ingredients are, water, soybean oil, extra virgin olive oil, salt, sweet cream buttermilk, xanthan gum, soy lecithin, polysorbate 60, lactic acid (potassium sorbate, calcium disodium EDTA), used to protect quality, natural flavor, vitamin A palmitate, beta carotene for (color). The oils add a "dietary insignificant amount of fat" according to the label.

An 8 ounce bottle of I Can't Believe It's Not Butter (Olive Oil) Spray costs $2.69 in stores, but I received samples from the company to try out. You can bet that this one is going on my grocery list from now on. What are some of the ways you use a butter/ oil spray?
