Olde Hearth Select Health Crunch Bagels Review

Olde Hearth Select Health Crunch BagelsI love bagels, but most of the time, they are too big, which means a whole bunch of calories. I found these Olde Hearth Select Health Crunch Bagels in the refrigerated section of my local supermarket and was drawn to their substantial but appropriate size and overall healthy edge. I know that proper bagels are crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside, but I still like the typical supermarket bagels that are just chewy all around.

The website says, "More than just a wheat bagel, this hearty bagel offers whole grains and kernels. Packed full of great taste, you'll have a hard time resisting this anytime-of-the-day treat that's high in fiber." This bagel turned out nice, soft, and chewy after warming it up. Really delicious.

Each 81 gram Olde Hearth Select Health Crunch Bagel provides 170 calories, 2 grams of fat (3% of the daily value), none of which is saturated, 360 milligrams of sodium (15% DV), 9 grams of protein and 37 grams of carbohydrates including 8 grams of dietary fiber (34% of the DV) and 4 grams of sugars. The packaging says the bagels are also a good source of omega-3 ... although since there is only 2 grams of fat, it can't be that much!

A bag of 5 bagels cost me $1.58 which makes them a real bargain. You could eat a cup of one of the many cereals we have reviewed for the same amount of calories as 1 of these bagels. But, who wants to eat cereal all the time! When you're in the mood for something different for lunch, then have Olde Hearth Select Health Crunch Bagels with all that protein and fiber instead of generic bagels. If you want a smaller bagel option, then consider Kim's Light Bagels, which has 110 calories for each 54 gram bagel.
