The gym I go to was giving away free samples of Vita Coco Coconut Water, and I tried the 100% Pure Cocount Water. I wasn't too enthused about this variety - maybe coconut water isn't for me - but I decided to try one of the flavored kinds as well, the Acai & Pomegranate.
The thing that got me about the regular (100% pure) flavor was the combination of refreshing and sweet with the strange thick texture. Not my cup of tea. With this one, though, the addition of pomegranate and acai make it taste more like a smoothie, which is great. The fact that those fruits have antioxidant properties is an added bonus. I thought this flavor was much better than the regular one, although it would still take some getting used to.
Each 8 ounce serving of Vita Coco Coconut Water with Acai & Pomegranate provides 60 calories, 515 mg potassium (15% of the daily value), 1 gram of fiber, 15 grams of sugar, 1 gram of protein and 180% of the RDA for vitamin C. The ingredients are natural coconut water, acai juice, pomegranate juice and ascorbic acid
The normal cost is $1.50 for an 11.2-ounce serving. I think I preferred this Acai & Pomegranate infused coconut water to the 100% Coconut water because of the extra flavor from the fruit juices. I do not however prefer the increased amount of sugars! What's a girl to do?!
