Diet iced teas helped ween me off a bad soda habit, and actually helped me to incorporate more water into my diet (you know it's a problem when even the doctor is telling you that you need to do it). I absolutely loved Diet Lipton Green Tea with Citrus, so when I heard about their latest White Tea flavor, Diet Lipton Peach Papaya White Tea, I jumped at the chance to try it.
It did not disappoint. There is an obvious peach flavor which goes well with the slight tartness that's also present. I loved the light, refreshing taste, and since this has no calories, it's perfect when you want a drink with a little flavor instead of plain water.
One thing I love about the Lipton beverages is the fact that they put the amount of antioxidants right there on the label - after all, that's one of the reasons why we drink white and green tea drinks. One 8 ounce serving of Diet Lipton Peach Papaya White Tea contributes 74 mg of flavonoid antioxidants. The sweeteners used are aspartame and acesulfame K, and I'm not sure how much caffeine is in this (a look at the amount of caffeine in Pepsi products shows that Lipton Diet Tea with Peach has 20 mg per 8 ounces so it probably won't be more than that).
One 20 ounce bottle costs $1.29 and is one of those beverages that's nice to have around to cut out a few calories. For me, it's that go to drink after dinner - water is just too bland and I need something with a little flavah.
* Side Note: Lipton has a really cool YouTube Video contest going on at
LiptonFreeYourY.com. It's a chance to win $25,000 - but more than that - it's a chance to show your goofiness unique skills off to the world. You have got to check out the site, scroll to the bottom and look at some of the videos submitted. My favorite so far is The Human SeaGull.
