I really like grapefruit juice, but I have long since decided it has too much sugar to drink on a regular basis. Florida's Natural Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice has 90 calories and 20 grams of sugar per 8 ounce serving. So when I saw Ocean Spray On The Go Sugar Free Ruby Red Drink Mix, I totally reached for it, because sometimes I don't want the added sugar and extra calories. Furthermore, because I was shopping at Walmart (something I don't do often because there isn't a store close to me in New York City), I discovered that an entire 10-serving box was only $2.50!
I purchased the box right away, and eagerly tried the juice mix. Although the mix isn't as tart as real grapefruit juice, it does provide a pretty satisfying alternative. It's also a nice change of pace from the standard Crystal Light flavors (don't worry, Crystal Light, I still love you), and the price is unbeatable.
Each serving of Ocean Spray On The Go Sugar Free Ruby Red Drink Mix provides 5 calories and 100% of the daily daily value for Vitamin C. One thing that I find ironic about all these drink mixes is the use of the term "natural flavors." The flavors MIGHT be natural, but the sweeteners definitely are NOT.
So just know what you're getting into it. I drink sugar-free drink mixes regularly, and would I buy it again? Most definitely!
