Crystal Light Lemonade for a while now - it's one of the beverages I reach for when I get a little tired of drinking plain water all the time. I pretty much stick to either that or Wyler's Light Lemonade for a hydrating lemonade fix. The lemonade flavor was out of stock at the small grocery store near me recently, so I decided to try one I hadn't tried before, Fusion Fruit Punch. I've never been a huge fan of fruit punch, but I wanted to give this a try.
Each 2-serving Crystal Light On the Go Fruit Punch Mix packet provides 10 calories total (5 calories per serving). The ingredients include citric acid, maltodextrin, calcium phosphate, aspartame, modified cornstarch, red 40, and less than 2% of natural and artificial flavor, potassium citrate, acesulfame potassium, salt, artificial color, blue 1, and BHA - quite a lot of ingredients for something so seemingly simple.
So how's the flavor, you ask To be honest, not so hot. Unlike with the lemonade, where I can add just the right amount by judging the color of the liquid, I can add a whole bunch of this powder and have it still taste watery despite the dark red color. If you add too much, though, it gets pretty sickeningly sweet. Yuck! Plus, the color really stains your mouth (tongue and teeth). Crystal Light White Tea Blueberry On the Go Packets was pretty bad too, so it's hit or miss with the different Crystal Light On the Go Packets!
I definitely won't be buying this again, especially at the price of $3.49.
