Odwalla Protein Bar (Original Super Protein) Review

Venture into any supermarket, health food or convenience store and you're sure to find practically an entire aisle dedicated to nutrition/ energy bars. With so many different brands, flavors, and health benefits boasted on each bar's label, trying to decide which one to buy can certainly be overwhelming - especially if you have dietary restrictions or food allergies. But my journey to find the "perfect" nutrition bar ended when I discovered the Odwalla Super Protein Bar.
Serving Size: 1 bar (56 grams)
Calories: 210
Total Fat: 4.5 grams, 7%
Saturated Fat: 1 gram, 6%
Sodium: 150 mg, 6%
Carbohydrates:30 grams
Fiber: 4 grams, 15%
Sugars: 17 grams
Protein: 14 grams
These bars have a very dense, chewy texture, and each bite is filled with pieces of whole-grain oats and sweet raisins. I found this bar not only delicious, but very filling and satisfying as well - perfect for a post-workout snack, and big enough for a snack at any other type of day, since it's a hefty 56 gram bar.
Each Odwalla Super Protein Bar provides 210 calories, 4.5 grams of total fat, 1.5 grams of which is saturated fat (7% and 6% of the daily value), 14 grams of soy protein, 4 grams of fiber (15% of the DV) and 16 grams of sugars.
While the calorie and sugar content may be a bit high compared to other nutrition bars - it's not necessarily higher than other bars that contain NO refined sugars or artificial ingredients - i.e. no artificial preservatives, sweeteners, colors or flavors. The Odwalla Super Protein Bar cost $1.17 from my local grocery store and it was well worth the price.
As a vegan, I appreciate a nutrition bar that's not only high in protein and fiber, but also has natural ingredients, and is mighty tasty too.
