Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Bars Review

Nature Valley Chewy Trail Mix Bars tastes great - well I should say the Fruit and Nut variety that I tried. It was a wonderful combination of crunchy oats and nuts perfectly balanced with the raisins which I experienced in just about every bite. If I was forced to make one critique, it would be that the folks at Nature Valley tend to use a lot of sugary ingredients: the 2nd ingredient is high 'maltose' corn syrup, plus they also list sugar, high fructose corn syrup and fructose in their ingredients list. This is the same complaint I had with their Healthy Heart Honey Nut Granola Bar [read the review].

One bar (35 grams) has 140 calories, 4 grams of total fat (6% of the recommended daily amount), 0.5 grams of saturated fat, low sodium, 3 grams of protein and 25 grams of total carbohydrates, which includes 1 gram of fiber and 13 grams of sugars.
A box with 6 bars was $3.49 and I would buy it again. BUT I must say that as much as I liked the Chewy Trail Mix bar, I would probably choose Gnu bars over this because Gnu bars weigh 5 grams more and have 10 less calories, less fat, less sugars, more protein and way more fiber [read the Gnu review].
