Kirkland Organic Creamy Peanut Butter

Kirkland Organic Creamy Peanut ButterI've been shopping at Costco for many years now, as their bulk offerings give one overall savings. In recent years, they've deviated from simply offering bulk versions of big-brand items, and instead switched to a more natural market, more closely resembling a bulk version of Whole Foods than a Sam's Club copycat. Their own brand, Kirkland, has started offering numerous unique healthy, natural, or organic items, one of which is their Organic Creamy Peanut Butter.

When I first spotted this as Costco, I certainly was surprised - normally they only carry Skippy. I eagerly put a two-pack into my cart and made my way home where I opened the jar and spent a good five minutes mixing up the separated peanut butter. I spooned out a couple of tablespoons to have with some whole-wheat crackers. I took a bite and was greeted by peanut butter bliss - a surprisingly smooth and creamy peanut butter with no added sweetness. The flavor is pure peanut, and the texture is probably the creamiest of all natural peanut butters that I've tried.

A 2 tablespoon serving of Kirkland Organic Creamy Peanut Butter has the same nutrition facts as most other peanut butter brands - 200 calories, almost 25% of the daily value for total fat,15% of the DV for saturated, 2 grams of fiber, 2 grams of sugars and 9 grams protein. As with any peanut butter, portion size is key, as it's very calorie-dense. The ingredients are marvelously short: peanuts and salt.

A 2-pack of 28 oz. jars cost $6.49, which is really cheap for organic natural peanut butter. My only real complaint about this is that they don't seem to make a chunky version - something I'd love to see in the future.

I don't mean to spam, but I'm doing a Barney Butter giveaway on my blog today and tomorrow. I figured that anyone reading this post may be interested. :)
