True North Almond Cranberry Crisps

True North Almond Cranberry CrispsI was browsing around the chip aisle in search of a crispy, crunchy snack when I stumbled upon True North Almond Cranberry Crisps. I've walked by these crisps many times, but had never felt compelled to pick up a bag until today.

The texture of these octagonal treats is unique and I love it. You get the crisp, airiness of Popchips but with the dense, crunchy, sturdy nature of a cracker ... all in one subtly sweet package. Furthermore, there are cranberry bits dispersed throughout each crisp that add a chewy element to this delightful snack.

Unlike True North Pistachio Crisps, these are not overly salty in the least. In fact, the flavor is completely balanced, highlighting each all natural ingredient that goes into the fairly short ingredient list which starts with almonds, wheat flour and dried cranberries. I think that these these gourmet-like crackers would also make a perfect base for your favorite cheeses. I paid $2.00 for a 4 ounce bag (containing 4 servings) at Wal-Mart and I will be back for more. They didn't even last one day in this house!

Each serving of True North Almond Cranberry Crisps (15 crackers) provides 130 calories, 7% of the daily value for total fat, no saturated fat, 7% of the DV for sodium, 2 grams of fiber, 5 grams of sugars and 4 grams of protein.

I'm not sure if I have made it clear enough yet, but True North Almond Cranberry Crisps are here to stay. Road trips, packed lunches, afternoon munchies ... these crisps should be involved!
