Sensible Foods Organic Sweet Corn Crunch Dried Snacks
Corn on the cob is one of my favorite parts of summer - it makes me think of barbecues and picnics and being outdoors in the beautiful weather. In the middle of winter, though, good corn can be hard to come by. I know that frozen corn makes a terrific snack (if you haven't tried it, please do so), so when I saw Sensible Foods Sweet Corn Organic Crunch Dried Snacks, I thought it was an interesting idea as a snack.

What really attracted me to this product was the fact that it's made with minimal ingredients. The Sweet Corn variety has just 100% organic sweet corn, sea salt, and nothing else (yes, 'nothing else' is actually the last of these is listed on the ingredient list). Mmm! With ingredients like these, I had no doubt this snack would taste delicious. Boy was I right. The proprietary "Crunch Dried Process" removes water but leaves all the deliciousness of the sweet corn. The kernels are crunchy, remarkably sweet and salty at the same time. The only thing bad about this snack is how soon it disappears. A bag is only 0.75 ounces (21 grams), so it's perhaps not as satisfying as a full ear of corn, but it sure does taste delicious.
Each pouch of Sensible Foods Organic Sweet Corn Crunch Dried Snacks is the equivalent of 1/2 cup of fresh corn, and clocks in at 70 calories, 1 gram of fat, 8% of the daily value for sodium, 3 grams of fiber and 7 grams of sugar. I picked up a one-serving pouch for $1.99 at Whole Foods, a pretty steep price to pay for one bag, but I will definitely be ordering some of these from Amazon.com very soon. They are also available in a variety of different flavors, including Cherry Berry, Tropical Blend, Orchard Blend, 100% Organic Supersweet Corn, 100% Organic Cherry Berry, 100% Organic Apple Harvest, and Organic Crunch Dried Roasted Soy Nuts. Have you tried these yet - what did you think?!

I want to hear more about this frozen corn as a snack thing... how do you eat it? Just plain? Still frozen?! Tell me more!! :)
Hi Erika - I eat it plain, still frozen! To me it tastes sweeter than some corn off the cob (maybe the cob kind is not always ripe enough), and it's really cheap to buy a bag of frozen corn. It's so sweet that you don't need to add anything else! Let me know what you think!
The Orchard Blend is really good - the peaches are yummy! The Tropical Blend is also decent, but I prefer the other.
I haven't tired their corn, but the dried fruit is really good.
I picked these up yesterday at the Vitaminshoppe. They were pretty good and I was suprised how sweet they were. Since I am a salt fiend I would have liked a bit more salt to go along with the sweet, but they were a nice snack. I kept thinking how good these would taste with other seasoning.. like nacho, garlic and herb.. etc
