Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Flour Pita Bread

Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Flour Pita BreadI really like pita bread, but I find that so many loaves have unreasonable calorie and carb counts. 200+ calories for a round? No thank you! When I spotted Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Flour Pita Bread, I was intrigued. The claims just on the front of the package include, "excellent source of ALA Omega-3, No trans fats, Reduced carb, No cholesterol, High protein, Great taste and May help protect your heart while losing weight."

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 pita (37 grams)

Sodium: 300 mg, 13%
Carbohydrates: 8 grams

Joseph's is not quite as doughy as some pita breads, but they work perfectly for a nice sandwich. They're also great for making things like pita pizzas and quesedillas (where the thinness comes in handy). The protein and fiber kept me full for a while, too. Overall, these are a hit in my book, and I'll keep coming back for more.

Each Joseph's Flax, Oat Bran & Whole Wheat Flour Pita Bread provides 60 calories, 2 grams of total fat, 13% of the daily value for sodium, 16% of the DV for fiber, no sugar and 6 grams of protein. I love the low calorie count, and the protein and fiber are great.

The ingredients are, "water, wheat gluten, corn starch, flax, oat fiber, whole wheat flour, oat bran, yeast, isolated soy protein, soy flour, soy oil, sesame flour, salt, sodium acid pyrophosphate, dextrose, sodium bicarbonate, calcium propionate (a preservative), fumaric acid, potassium sorbate, monodiglycerides, and sodium metabisulfite."

At $3.49 for a 6-pack, these were no steal; still, I couldn't resist buying them, especially given the nutritionals and I am so glad I did. Oh yes - this might be my go to pita bread of choice.

I LOVE these. The mini ones are awesome too, as are the wraps and lavash breads. :)
They are expensive though, over $3 where I live, for 6! Worth it occasionally.

I use these all the time. Especially like putting egg whites, peppers, cheese and salsa on top for breakfast.

how is this only 60 calories! awesome. i would cut these up, toast them and dip in hummus!

Were can I find these?

these loook goood. how big are they??

I will keep my eye out for these!

I love these too - I fill them with Desert Pepper's black bean dip, brocco slaw, red onion and shredded carrots for lunch!
