Penny's Low Fat Desserts Peanut Butter Cookie

Peanut butter cookies induce a love/hate relationship for many dieters. The creamy, sugary, buttery, smooth mouth feel is strongly desired; while moving to the next latch on your belt loop is not. Well, you can take the hate part out of that relationship because I just stumbled upon an all natural treat that warrants nothing but love. Say hello to my little friend, Penny's Low Fat Desserts Peanut Butter Cookie.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 52 grams (1 cookie)
Calories: 150
Total Fat: 3 grams, 4%
Saturated Fat: 1.5 grams, 9%
Sodium: 160 mg, 6%
Carbohydrates: 38 grams
Fiber: 7 grams, 29%
Sugars: 18 grams
Protein: 3 grams

It tastes like a fluffy, soft, dense, homemade peanut butter cookie with smooth, all natural peanut butter goodness thoroughly present in each and every bite. To complement the creamy peanut butter cookie base, peanut butter chips are dispersed throughout the batter and elevate specific bites to a level that one thought only possible in their low fat dreams. The peanut butter flavor just works. It is not overwhelming, but is most certainly present and accounted for. Finding anything that is low fat and high on the creamy dreamy flavor of peanut butter ... and all natural is not easy (sorry Weight Watcher's Peanut Butter Cookies, you don't count; and you're too small!). However, Penny's food scientists have most definitely nailed it!

Each 52 gram Penny's Low Fat Desserts Peanut Butter Cookie provides 150 calories, 4% & 9% of the daily value for total and saturated fat, 129% of DV for fiber, 18 grams of sugar and 3 grams of protein. The sugar count is somewhat high (and it's the first ingredient), but the fat, fiber and protein counts are very respectable for this all natural treat.

Don't lose sight that this is merely a treat. However, it's a creamy, mouthwatering treat with substance.

The only way you will truly understand just how soft and satisfying this cookie would be to purchase some for yourself, which you can do online at Penny's Low Fat Desserts ($29.99 for a box of 24). If this tasty dessert was posed against a Vitalicious Fudgy Peanut Butter Chip VitaTop, I think I'd have to go with Penny's creation ... more peanut butter goodness to love - although the VitaTops has less sugar (11 grams vs. 18 grams), so it would be a tough decision.

Any chance we could see a picture of the cookie? :-)

Are these available in any store?

They are available in a few Whole Foods stores in California; but other than that, no. The company is still working on expanding, but for now they can be purchased on the website.
