ExtendBar Peanut Delight Bar
Hello - I'm Ellen - a certified, card carrying member of the "People who Love Nuts Club!" So, can you imagine how fast I picked up a nutrition bar with the words "Peanut Delight" in it's name?! Let me further extol the virtues that I found upon more closely examining the packaging of Extend Bar peanut Delight: it's a low glycemic index snack bar (with a tested GI of 32), sugar-free, low fat and high protein snack.
Serving Size: 40 grams
Calories: 150
Total Fat: 3 grams, 5%
Saturated Fat: 0.5 grams, 2%
Sodium: 200 mg, 8%
Carbohydrates: 21 grams
Fiber: 5 grams, 20%
Sugars: 0 grams
Sugar Alcohols: 6 grams
Protein: 12 grams
Although this bar is formulated as a low glycemic index snack bar to help manage blood sugar and weight, I say it makes for a delicious treat for anyone! Each bar is chewy, filled with peanuts, and is just sweet enough! What else can I say - this bar is delicious
.
Each 40 gram ExtendBar Peanut Delight Bar provides 150 calories, 5% of the daily value for total fat, 20% of the daily value for fiber, 12 grams of protein, no sugar but 6 grams of sugar alcohol instead. Yes this might taste like a candy bar - but the nutrition facts are SO much better.
The ingredients list is also pretty good: Soy protein isolate, maltitol syrup, uncooked cornstarch, arabinogalactan (fiber), glycerine, peanut butter, milk protein isolate, peanuts, oligofructose (fiber), peanut flour, rice starch, sunflower oil with tocopherol, natural flavor, salt, sucralose (Splenda®), soy lecithin. The only catch I can find is that these treats must be ordered online. However, if you go to www.extendbar.com, you can buy an introductory sampler for $15.99 (with free shipping). There are many different sampler varieties; I got the combination with 10 bars (2 of each of five flavors) with 5 shakes (two vanilla, two chocolate, and one strawberry), and I was very satisfied with my order. This all worked out to about $1.00 per bar - far cheaper than many other store-bought nutrition bars.
All in all, I highly recommend this product, either as a snack or as a high-protein, high-fiber pre-gym treat.

I can imagine there will be some men who will totally pick up this product solely because of it's name. ha!
Zero sugars is awesome. And so it the protein.
I have to say, reading the line "card carrying member of the 'People who Love Nuts Club!'" under the heading for something named an "Extend bar" cracked me up.
Lol Wolf - get your mind out of the gutter :-)
