Amy's Organic Low Fat Cream of Tomato Soup

Amy's Organic Low Fat Cream of Tomato SoupAmy's Kitchen barely ever lets me down. The pizzas, chilis, veggie burgers. Among the soups, I have loved Amy's Organic Black Bean Vegetable Soup, Amy's Organic Fire Roasted Southwestern Vegetable Soup and Amy's Organic Light Sodium Low Fat Split Pea Soup, but I haven't been so thrilled with Amy's Light in Sodium Organic Minestrone Soup, Amy's Organic Butternut Squash Light in Sodium Soup and Amy's Organic Lentil Soup. Still, given Amy's track record, I'm always more than willing to try more varieties, so I didn't hesitate to give Amy's Low Fat Cream of Tomato Soup a whirl.

The texture appears fairly thick, as you would expect from a creamy tomato soup; but when you place a spoonful into your mouth, the texture comes across as a delightfully delicate puree. The tomato flavor is so vibrant and fresh, yet the spices and addition of organic cream and evaporated cane juice take this soup to the next level (unlike Progresso High Fiber Creamy Tomato Basil Soup, which is the exact opposite). I even took a spoonful of this smooth creation straight from the can and, let me tell you, it would make for one fabulous gazpacho.

The organic ingredient list is so short and to the point, which is what I think Amy's does best. They take some high quality ingredients and combine them in a way that will let each component shine. Each 1 cup serving of Amy's Organic Low Fat Cream of Tomato Soup provides 100 calories, 3% and 6% of the daily value for total and saturated fat 29% of the DV for sodium, 3 grams of fiber, 11 grams of sugars & 2 grams of protein.

I paid $2.79 for a 14.5 oz can and while, I couldn't care less if I ever took another bite of Progresso High Fiber Creamy Tomato Basil Soup, I will surely be enjoying this Amy's creation again in the near future. It's creamy, flavorful and mouthwatering although, you may want to watch out for your daily sodium consumption, as is the case with most canned soups (they also have a low sodium variety that I'm dying to try). Also, Amy's Organic Low Fat Cream of Tomato Soup is 99% organic, gluten free but not vegan

Try Amy's Organic Chunky Tomato Bisque. It will change your life! The one at Trader Joe's I think is the same, but cheaper. Both come in low sodium (which is what I eat).

I'm a vegetarian and have tried numerous products from Amy's. The soups are a definite must-try. Everything I've purchased from this brand has been fantastic. My personal favorite is the black bean enchiladas. They are filling and absolutely satisfying...especially because they can be heated up in the microwave in minutes!
