ZonePerfect Dark Chocolate Strawberry Bar

I'm a big fan of the Zone Perfect Dark line - the Dark Chocolate Almond and Double Dark Chocolate flavors are fantastic! I recently spotted the Dark Chocolate Strawberry bar the other day and totally made an impulse purchase just to see how a frutier incarnation of the bars would taste.

I opened the package and examined my nutritious version of a chocolate-covered strawberry (hey, I can dream, right)?! It looked dark and rich, and I excitedly took a bite. Mmm ... I liked it a lot, but must say that I didn't Love it. The strawberry flavor was a tiny bit artificial, but the dark chocolate was perfect and the combination was good. One of the many things I like about Zone Perfect bars is that they're pretty big (45 grams) and satisfying for minimal calories; not to mention the fact that they usually taste great too.

Each Zone Perfect Dark Chocolate Strawberry Bar provides 180 calories, 5 grams of total fat, 20% of the daily value for saturated fat, 1 gram of fiber, 12 grams of protein and 14 grams of sugar. There is also a bounty of added vitamins and minerals, but the ingredient list is pretty long and textbook-ish.

I like the taste, but I don't like the fact that there is 20% of the daily value for saturated fat in a nutrition bar with almost no fiber - although it's a good source of (soy) protein. ZonePerfect help us out with this please! I got mine for $1.49 at the grocery store, but the line is that this tastes pretty good and I might buy it again in the future, though not with the frequency I would buy the other Dark flavors.
