Total Blueberry Pomegranate Cereal

Total Blueberry Pomegranate CerealI received a sample of Total Blueberry Pomegranate Cereal in my mailbox the other day. I don't even remember requesting it, but I am the last person who would turn down free cereal, so I popped it open and made myself a typical college dinner. I was fairly impressed by what I discovered.

The whole grain flakes have a little curve to them, and managed to stay crunchy until the last spoonful. The flavor is slightly sweet and the little blueberry flavored crunchy clusters, while adding a bit to the textural essence of the cereal, contribute more to the thorough blueberry flavor - it's a sort of blueberry muffin taste sensation without being too overpowering. But I couldn't detect a speck of pomegranate, although I'm not complaining since this cereal was delicious.

Lastly, I think it is important to mention that the blueberry flavor does not taste artificial (despite the listing of sucralose as an ingredient), which calls for some big props to the General Mills' food scientists because that artificial aftertaste can make or break a product.

Each 1 cup serving of Total Blueberry Pomegranate Cereal provides 170 calories, 2 grams of total fat, 4% of the daily value for sodium, 16% of the DV for fiber, 11 grams of sugars and 5 grams of protein. As is customary with Total Cereals, you will also receive 100% of the daily value for 12 essential vitamins & minerals in each serving. The ingredients start with whole grain oats, whole grain wheat and sugar, but there are artificial colors & preservatives.

If you have ever enjoyed a bowl of Kashi Oat Flakes and Wild Blueberry Clusters, then I would suggest that you give Total Blueberry Pomegranate Cereal a try. I personally liked it better! Plus it only costs about $2.50 per 15.25 ounce box.

I would pick whichever cereal is on sale and revel in the delight of blueberry goodness that will undoubtedly keep you coming back for another bowl in the very near future.

I LOVE this stuff!! It's so good.

I Love this cereal as well!! It tastes great, and is packed with vitamins too. It also has a respectable amount of fiber and protein, which appeals to me.

See, I think this stuff is just so-so. Anything that tastes this much of blueberry without having any actual visible blueberries anywhere in it, well... It just needs some chewy fruit in there somewhere.

I like it much better if I toss in some dried blueberries to get a "Blueberry Morning" type result
