PowerBar Triple Threat Chocolate Peanut Butter Crisp Bar

PowerBar Triple Threat Chocolate Peanut Butter Crisp BarI had high hopes for PowerBar Triple Threat in Chocolate Peanut Butter Crisp, after all, it was advertised as having great taste, energy, and nutrition - what a delicious three-in-one! Therefore, when I saw this bar in the drugstore for $1.99, I didn't hesitate to put one in my basket.

NUTRITION FACTS
Serving Size: 1 bar (55 grams)
Calories: 220
Total Fat: 5 grams, 8%
Saturated Fat: 2 grams, 10%
Sodium: 175 mg, 7%
Carbohydrates: 24 grams
Fiber: 4 grams, 16%
Sugars: 14 grams
Protein: 11 grams

What drew me to this flavor was the fact that I'm a peanut butter chocolate enthusiast yum. When I unwrapped the bar, I was excited to see what appeared to be a crunchy mix of the two main flavors intermingled in a hefty bar. I took a bite and was initially immensely satisfied with the taste. Not 2 second had gone by, however, before I discovered a weird, indescribable aftertaste. It wasn't quite chemical, but it was definitely unpleasant. did finish the bar, but there were constant waves of flavor that started as tasty but turned unappealing rapidly. And I had such high hopes for this one, so I was really disappointed ack.

Each 55 gram PowerBar Triple Threat Chocolate Peanut Butter Crisp Bar provides 220 calories, 8% and 10% of the daily value for total and saturated fat (5 grams of regular, 2 grams of saturated), plus 4 grams of fiber and 11 grams of protein. It has 14 grams of sugar, which is lower than the similar PowerBar Harvest Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Whole Grain Bar (it's also 20 calories lower). The ingredients list starts out with corn syrup, which was actually surprising to me - I haven't seen too many bars actually start with sugar.

Overall, I'm not tempted to try this bar again. It's aftertaste and price make it a no-no in my book.

I love to replace my regular chocolate bar with it the price is good also

This is great information. I am not a power bar lover either and it is sad to say that the after taste can kill the whole product. What energy/power bars would you recommend that do not have such an aweful after taste. I valued the analysis of this product because it was spot-on. There is so much advertising around it and it is not THAT satisfying.
