McCann's Sugar Free Instant Oatmeal (Cinnamon Roll)

McCann Instant Sugar Free Irish Oatmeal

I tried McCann's Sugar Free Instant Oatmeal in Maple and Brown Sugar previously and wasn't extremely pleased with it, but when McCann's oatmeal went on sale on Amazon.com for 40% off, I knew I had to try another flavor. I picked up a 6-pack of 8-count boxes of McCann's Sugar Free Instant Oatmeal Cinnamon Roll for $17.39 (and free shipping). At just under 37 cents a package, this was a steal.

I heated up a bowl with one package, and again was struck with how small a serving seemed. Still, it smelled really good and I definitely liked this better than the Maple and Brown Sugar flavor - it wasn't as artificial, and it was sweet without being too much so. It didn't taste particularly cinnamon-y (at least not the way I sometimes make my oatmeal, with lots of cinnamon and a little Splenda), but the taste was pretty good nonetheless.

McCann's Sugar Free Instant Oatmeal Cinnamon Roll has exactly the same nutritional information as the Maple and Brown Sugar variety: 100 calories, 2 grams of total fat, 6% of the daily value for sodium, 4 grams of protein and 3 grams of fiber. In addition, each serving provides 20% of the RDA for many vitamins and minerals, including calcium, iron, and vitamin A. The artificial sweeteners used are sucralose and acesulfame K.

I have enough to last me a long time and I'm quite thrilled about that. If this had more cinnamon flavor it would be perfect - but I can always add more myself.

I LOVE LOVE the Cinnamon Roll! I love the chewy texture of the oats. I agree that Cinnamon Roll is the best. I thought the Maple one would be but alone it's kind of 'meh'. If I may offer some advice- mix it with Sugar Free Pancake Syrup, Sugar Free Davinci syrup, a packet of sweetener and cinnamon. It's great in Almond Milk too. I like it 'raw' or REALLY microwaved so it gets 'chewier'. I never add water. I think you'll like the Apple Cinnamon flavor.

Thanks GypsyGurl - fixed now.

I feel like they should have used stevia as a sweetener instead of sucralose and acesulfame K. Then again I dislike all instant oatmeal since it takes an already easy to make fairly natural product, and turns it into an artificial mess.

What kind of serving did you expect for 100 calories?
