Maple Grove Farms of Vermont Fat Free Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing

Maple Grove Farms of Vermont Fat Free Salad DressingsI'm trying to eat more fruits and vegetables, and one easy way to do that is to eat a salad with lunch and/or dinner. However, one easy way to blow this healthy addition is to add a fatty, calorie-laden salad dressing. When I saw Maple Grove Farms of Vermont Fat Free Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing in the grocery store for $2.49, I decided to pick up a bottle to see if this would enhance the taste of my salads.

This salad dressing has few ingredients, thankfully. Those ingredients are: water, balsamic vinegar, cider vinegar, dehydrated garlic, salt, spices, cane syrup, and xantham gum. The 8-ounce bottle contains about eight 2-tablespoon servings, each of which have just 5 calories, no fat, only 160 mg of sodium (7% of the RDA), 1 gram of carbohydrates, and no protein.

As for the taste: this stuff is strong! I was amazed at the low sodium level, given how strong the taste was. Then again, balsamic vinegar typically has a strong flavor. A little goes a long way, which means the bottle will last a long time. I like to drizzle a little bit of this on my salads to add a hit of flavor and interest to those leafy greens.

I must say that I wasn't impressed with the first Maple grove Farms of Vermont product which I tried, which was their Sugar Free Maple Syrup. But while the Maple Grove Farms of Vermont Fat Free Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing might not satisfy a craving for creamy, fatty dressing, I still like it a lot, especially because it seems lighter and can let the veggies shine. Plus with those nutritionals, it's hard to beat.

Maple Grove Farms of Vermont has quite a lot of Fat Free and Sugar Free Dressings & Syrups - perhaps more than Walden Farms, and that's saying a lot! But they also seem to be be hit or miss just like WF too - some products are great, some are not.

I absolutely LOVE this stuff! This is the only salad dressing I buy now! This dressing, as you said, CAN be very strong if you use too much. But the flavor is amazing! You would never be able to tell that it's so low calorie and hardly any sodium (considering it is salad dressing). I highly recommend this for anyone who hasn't tried it, on a diet or not.

$1.98 at Walmart.
