Campbell's Select Harvest Light Vegetable and Pasta Soup

Campbell's Select Harvest Light Vegetable and Pasta SoupI love the wide variety of canned soup flavors that is available, but sometimes it's easier just to get something simple. After trying many different kinds of soup in the Campbell's Select Harvest line, I decided to go for a more classic flavor from Campbell's Select Harvest Light Vegetable and Pasta Soup.

This soup seemed to be a good fit for me because I enjoy both vegetables and pasta. The pasta pieces are made with whole grain and are quite large. The vegetable mix was pretty traditional with peas, carrots, tomatoes, etc. They tasted great but had a muted color that comes from being canned. I liked the lightness of the broth, but it is chicken stock, which may not jive with vegetarians.

A 1 cup serving of Campbell's Select Harvest Light Vegetable and Pasta Soup provides 60 calories, no fat, 20% of the daily value for sodium (which curiously is the same amount in some other brands touted as Low Sodium, like Progresso Reduced Sodium Italian Style Wedding Soup). There is also 16% of the daily value for fiber and 3 grams of protein.

Campbell's Select Harvest line of soups is made with real ingredients, and no artificial flavors or MSG. An 18.6 ounce can normally costs $2.89 at Kroger, but I bought it on sale using coupons (we mentioned here). This soup has less salt than other soups, but it's important to note that a whole can still has 40% DV sodium.

The soup was light yet filling and wonderful for a cold day. I would definitely buy it again.

Really? I thought this was gross! The pasta was mushy and all the different vegetables shared the same mono-taste, which wasn't impressive either. Fail.
