Weight Watchers Light String Cheese
After having experienced the wonder of string cheese (notably Kraft Natural Cheese Snacks Mozzarella & Cheddar Cheese Twists), I set out to try lots of different types. The appeal of these snacks extends beyond the taste and portability; they're packed with protein and calcium as well. I was drawn to Weight Watchers Light String Cheese when I spotted them in the grocery store because each stick has only 50 calories - 10 calories less per stick than Kraft's.

These are actually light, low moisture, part skim, mozzarella cheese sticks. I snagged a pack of 12 sticks for $3.99 - not too bad. I flipped over the package for the ingredient list and saw: pasteurized, part-skim milk, cheese culture, salt, enzymes, and vitamin A palmitate; short and sweet. Each 50-calorie string cheese has 5% of the daily value for both total and saturated fat, 6% of the DV for sodium, 6 grams of protein, and 15% of the DV for calcium.
Light string cheese has the tendency to have a slightly dry texture, but Weight Watchers Light String Cheese was surprisingly moist and easy to peel. The string cheese seemed to be longer than usual but perhaps with a smaller diameter to match the nutrition stats on this cheese. The mozzarella taste was right on the money, making this string cheese a satisfying snack. No wonder it won the Chefs Best Award in the Light String Mozzarella Cheese category - granted, it seems that they only tested 2 other brands (Frigo & Sargento).
Overall, I really liked this, and if you're jonesing for cheese, then give this 1 WW Point wonder a try.

I haven't tried the weight watchers brand string cheese yet. I've purchased a lot of different brands of light string cheese and so far the best I've had are the Trader Joe's brand.
String cheese! Wishing I had this to try right now. Better than eat 7 cookies, huh?
