Leclerc Praeventia Orange Zest Cookies With Green Tea Extract

leclercorangezestcookies.jpgI had such a fabulous experience with Leclerc Praeventia Dark Chocolate Chip 70% Cocoa with Red Wine Extract Cookies that I got fooled into thinking that all of Leclerc's cookies would send my taste buds on a roller coaster ride of excitement, so I purchased Leclerc Praeventia Orange Zest Cookies With Green Tea Extract.

Leclerc Praeventia cookies come in a box which contains 7 portion appropriated pouches. The cookies in each pouch provide 140 calories, 12% of your daily fiber requirements, 40% of the recommended daily dose of prebiotics fiber and 70 mg of polyphenols (antioxidants) per serving.

On first bite, these cookies are quite good. The base of these treats is comparable to a crunchy oatmeal cookie, while the flavorful orange zest permeates throughout each bite of these little treats. But, after a few bites, you will be questioning this product. There is a weird almost chalky-like aftertaste that I cannot fully explain. I am not sure if it is the green tea extract or simply the combination of flavors. This is simply not as good as Leclerc Praeventia Dark Chocolate Chip 70% Cocoa with Red Wine Extract Cookies.

The first thing listed on the fairly short ingredient list is whole rolled oats, which is followed by enriched flour, brown sugar ... and other completely identifiable food components.

While I was standing in the cookie aisle (holding my $0.55 off coupon) and contemplating whether to stick with what I know to be utterly delicious or try the other intriguing flavor, curiosity got the best of me ... and $2.00 of my wallet. However, now I am stuck sitting here thinking, "I wish I had purchased the Dark Chocolate Chip 70% Cocoa with Red Wine Extract Cookies". At least I know for next time (and so do you)!

I haven't tried those, but their dark chocolate/pomegranate granola bars are awesome!

Ack! Chalky aftertastes are terrible....

The comments links on the muffin top reviews are giving me sass again, but I would like to pose the question: when they sell those muffin tops, what happens to the muffin bottoms??

Too funny...I think they probably just use a muffin top pan, similar to this one:
