Kashi Heart to Heart Original Whole Grain Crackers

Kashi Heart to Heart Original Whole Grain CrackersI was walking through the cereal aisle of Target yesterday, picking up some Kashi Warm Cinnamon Oat Heart to Heart Cereal and Barbara's Bakery Peanut Butter Puffins Cereal, when I turned around and, in the midst of a sea of cracker products, my eyes were drawn to Kashi Heart to Heart Original Whole Grain Crackers - a product I hadn't tried before.

Unfortunately, after my first bite, I was not too impressed. Each cracker is tightly woven, which makes for a pleasantly hearty snap when bitten into. However, on their own, Kashi's new cracker variety is slightly bland and tastes like what most people would label "diet food" - actually some of the crackers had the perfect salty crunch, while others were bland as could be. Then again, the slight lack of flavor that these crackers possess enables you to pile your crunchy base high with a broad range of toppings.

Each serving of Kashi Heart to Heart Original Whole Grain Crackers is 7 crackers which provides 120 calories, 5% of the daily value for total fat, 4 grams of fiber and no sugar. There is also a whole host of heart healthy vitamins and minerals. So, overall, the nutrition profile is a healthy snacker's dream.

I paid $2.99 for an 8 ounce box of Kashi Heart to Heart Original Whole Grain Crackers. Honestly, they start to grow on you by the time that you have devoured about half of the box, which may lure me to buy them again if I see them on sale.

If Kashi could make each bite with that perfect salty touch, then I would be sold. For now, Nabisco Triscuit Thin Crisps are still my favorites. Plus the ingredients in Triscuit Thin Crisps are simply, while the ingredients list of these Kashi crackers, is much longer albeit with what looks like natural ingredients and added vitamins.
