Glenny's 100 Calorie Chocolate Chip Blondie

Glenny's 100 Calorie Chocolate Chip BlondieFor as long as I can remember, I admire people who can finish a meal without having something resembling dessert at the end, because try as I might, I can't do it. I am a slave to sweet things, and a world without them isn't something I can imagine (or that I would enjoy). Of course unless I want to buy a bigger wardrobe every few months, I have to be fairly selective about my sweet treats which I why the 100 calorie Glenny's Blondie immediately caught my eye. Glenny's Lightly Salted Soy Crisps, MultiGrain Cinnamon and Sugar Pastry Crisps
, 100 Calorie Brownies, and Sea Spud Delights have all received excellent ratings here on Iateapie.net and so I had high hopes from this Blondie treat.

I am thrilled to report that for a 100 calorie treat, this ROCKED. It was moist and flavorful with a pleasing vanilla taste. Also included in the mix are chocolate chips, which were plentiful and actually tasted like chocolate. So often with these kinds of low calorie products the taste is artificial to me and leaves a funny aftertaste behind. Not so here. The only thing Glenny's suffers from, as with most other 100 calorie treats, is size. It's 41 grams - which is a bit small. Penny's Low Fat Desserts Chocolate Chocolate Chip Muffin Top is 56 grams - and also has 100 calories.

More good news though. Each Glenny's Chocolate Chip Blondie has 28% of the daily value for fiber, 4 grams of protein, and only 3 grams of total fat and 9 grams of sugar - all for 100 calories.

Also noteworthy is the fact that this treat is made of 75% organic ingredients. The ingredients list includes Water, organic Evaporated Cane Juice, organic Soy Flour, organic Whole Eggs, organic Chocolate Chips, egg Whites, canola Oil, organic Whole Wheat Flour, soy Fiber, natural Chicory Root(inulin), acacia Gum, lemon Juice, organic Wheat Gluten, arrowroot, wheat Protein Isolate, salt, xanthan Gum, natural Flavoring, leavening {sodium Bicarbonate, citric Acid, and Monocalcium Phosphate}, vinegar.

I paid $1.59 for one Glenny's 100 Calorie Chocolate Chip Blondie at the Vitamin Shop which isn't cheap, but I really enjoyed this product so I feel like it was worth it.

Very well said. A meal without a sweet as the finisher is incomplete. But not only choose low calorie chocolates, but at the same time think of low calorie nutritional products.

Happy Thanksgiving all...

For 100 calories, it's hard to find something really pleasing. This looks great though so I might have to give it a go next time in the Vitamin Shop (my new favorite place to go since my discovery of it last weekend lol)

Gosh, I admit that I was a little shocked when I read this review. I've had more than one of these blondies and I found it to be just terrible. To be fair, it's not as bad as the chocolate one, but I still found it rather unpleasant in taste as well as texture. It's possible that I expect too much of a packaged desert, but I maintain that Glenny's blondies and brownies are simply unsatisfactory.
