Weight Watchers Smart Ones Lemon Herb Chicken Piccata
Before I bought this Weight Watchers Smart Ones Lemon Herb Chicken Piccata, I had no idea what "Chicken Piccata" was, so I looked it up. According to my research, it's basically lemon chicken (which makes the name rather redundant). This meal is actually described as, "Grilled white meat chicken in a tangy lemon sauce with rice & spring vegetables."
The chicken was standard but had a good texture. The mix of white rice and wild rice was also tasty although I would have preferred the wild rice by itself. The vegetable presence in this dish was pretty minimal with thinly sliced carrots and green beans. Usually, the sauce brings all these different components together, but the lemon sauce was a bit too sweet and just didn't hit the spot for me. The dish was lackluster but still edible.
Each Weight Watchers Smart Ones Lemon Herb Chicken Piccata entree provides 230 calories from 1.5 grams of fat, with 0.5 gram being saturated (both are 3% of the daily value), 540 milligrams of sodium (22% DV), 12 grams of protein and 41 grams of carbohydrates, 2 grams of which are dietary fiber and 8 grams of sugars. There's also 15% DV vitamin A, 6% DV vitamin C and 4% DV iron. The ingredients list is quite lenghty and includes partially hydrogenated oils as well as high fructose corn syrup.
I paid $1.75 for this meal at Target, and while the overall quality of this meal is acceptable, it didn't really please my palate plus I would have preferred more vegetables in the mix. I don't plan on buying this entree again, but I would still recommend trying it to see if it's your cup of tea, since it's relatively low calorie.
