Lean Cuisine Grilled Chicken Caesar
I like uncomplicated food, so I picked up the Lean Cuisine Grilled Chicken Caesar when I spotted it in the grocery store. It's described as, "Grilled white meat chicken with broccoli, red peppers & garlic flavored radiatore pasta in a parmesan caesar sauce." This meal comes in a bowl, unlike most of the other frozen meals which come in trays.
The broccoli turned out great, but the pieces of chicken had some areas that were hard to chew. It kind of bugs me when the texture of the chicken makes me wonder what part of the chicken I'm chewing. The best part of the meal, though, was the radiatore pasta, which is Italian for "little radiator." Their chunky shape was fun to eat and held the parmesan-caesar sauce quite well.
Each bowl of Lean Cuisine Grilled Chicken Caesar provides 260 calories from 6 grams of fat, including 2 grams of saturated fat (9% and 10% of the daily value), 590 milligrams of sodium (25% DV), 18 grams of protein and 33 grams of carbohydrates, 3 grams of which are dietary fiber and 1 gram is sugars. The meal provides 10% DV vitamin A, 50% DV vitamin C, 10% DV calcium, and 6% DV iron.
The Lean Cuisine Grilled Chicken Caesar costs $2.89 at Target (it wasn't on sale when I bought it). The image of the chicken is stuck in my mind - and not in a good way - but I did love the novelty of the bowl and the adorable pasta. Still, this is way too easy to make yourself to even bother buying something which has a lengthy ingredients list, and just an okay taste. I have to agree with Dr.Gourmet on this one, "this meal was fair at best."
