Kellogg's FiberPlus Antioxidants Chocolate Chip Bar

Kellogg's FiberPlus Chocolate Chip Bar

Being a fan of the high fiber, Fiber One Bars, I was very excited to try out Kellogg's FiberPlus Chocolate Chip Bar. Kellogg's says, "these bars have 35% of your daily fiber, antioxidants vitamin E and zinc and whole grains mixed with chocolate chips."

These bars are very similar in texture and nutritional value to the Fiber One bars, with each providing 9 grams of fiber per bar, or 35% of the daily recommended value. They both have a chocolate bottom coating and chocolate drizzled all over the top, and a soft, gooey texture. I love chocolate, but I found myself overwhelmed by the sweetness of these bars. In fact, from the taste of these bars, I am surprised at the relatively low sugar count. It was a little light though, and it wouldn't really soothe the chocolate craving I had.

Each 36 gram Kellogg's FiberPlus Chocolate Chip Bar provides 120 calories from 4 grams of total fat of which 2 grams is saturated fat (6% and 10% of the daily value), 2% of the DV for sodium (55 mg), 2 grams of protein and 26 grams of carbohydrates which includes 9 grams of fiber (35% of the DV) and 7 grams of sugars (source).

The front of the packaging says, "Tastes Better than Fiber One" but I did not enjoy the taste of these bars as much as the Fiber One bar. While these bars are tasty, I would probably not buy them again just because I enjoy the Fiber One varieties more, especially the Chocolate Mocha and Oats and Chocolate varieties. And this cost more, about $3.00 for a box of 5.

I actually think these taste better than the FiberOne bars...

I agree with Adam. And they have slightly less calories, too! I especially love the dark chocolate almond flavor.

I agree with the other two, I actually like these better than Fiber One bars as well, especially the texture.

I agree. The fiber one bars have a weird texture. I really prefer the Kellogg's bars. Both flavors are great. I wish they had more flavor options.
