Edy's Slow Churned Chocolate Vanilla Swirl Yogurt Blends
I usually associate chocolate vanilla swirl ice cream with the self-serve ice cream machines at buffet restaurants, but with the Edy's Slow Churned Yogurt Blends Chocolate Vanilla Swirl Cultured Frozen Dairy Dessert, I found an ultra healthy iteration that I can keep in my own freezer. Even though this product is classified as a frozen dairy dessert, I still tend to call it ice cream in everyday conversation.
Inside the container the chocolate and vanilla flavors were arranged in alternating layers as expected. What I didn't anticipate though, was how creamy this would be. The ice cream had a nice, mild sweetness too. For an ordinary flavor combination, this ice cream held my attention quite well. In addition to being a low-fat source of calcium, this ice cream also has active yogurt cultures, which give it an edge over other ice cream.
Each 1/2 cup serving of Edy's Slow Churned Chocolate Vanilla Swirl Yogurt Blends provides 100 calories from 3 grams of fat, 1.5 grams of which are saturated (5% and 8% of the daily value), 35 milligrams of sodium (1% DV), 3 grams of protein and 16 grams of carbohydrates which includes 13 grams of sugars (no fiber). There is also 10% DV calcium. The ingredients are pretty straightforward.
I paid $3.00 for a 1.5 quart container of this ice cream while it was on sale at Target. With the delicious taste and solid nutrition facts, Edy's Slow Churned Chocolate Vanilla Swirl Yogurt Blends is very satisfying. I would definitely buy it again.
