Chobani Pineapple 2% All Natural Greek Yogurt

I haven't had much luck with flavored non-fat Greek yogurt, but given my success with yogurts of the low-fat variety, I decided to try again. Chobani brand was on sale for just $1.39 per container at Fairway, a bargain price for Greek yogurt, so I decided to experiment with a new flavor. I found it particularly interesting that the brand offers only one fruit-flavored low-fat yogurt, so I decided to try Chobani Low-fat Pineapple Yogurt.
Upon opening the container I found a thick (but slightly thinner than Fage 2%) yogurt with streaks of pineapple. Most of the good stuff was at the bottom, and I stirred it up, taking in the aroma. Normally I'm not a huge pineapple fan, but I like it better in products than by itself (strange, I know). I spooned up some yogurt and tasted, finding it to be delicious. I've come to the conclusion that a little bit of fat makes a huge difference when it comes to the taste of Greek yogurt. This yogurt was incredibly creamy, and the pineapple flavoring wasn't too sweet at all
.
Each container of Chobani Low-fat Pineapple Yogurt provides 160 calories, 2.5 grams of total fat, 2 grams of which is saturated (4% and 10% of the daily value), 65 mg sodium (3% of the DV), 13 grams of protein and 21 grams of carbohydrates which includes 18 grams of sugar (but no iber). There is also 15% of daily recommendations for calcium. The ingredients list includes pineapple (and pineapple concentrate) plus evaporated cane juice as the sweetener.
I ate this as a desert which makes the nutrition facts not so bad - it's not the lowest calorie yogurt choice though. This may just be my new favorite flavored low-fat yogurt - give it a try for a tropical treat. I will also probably try freezing it too for a more ice cream-like texture

This is my favorite Chobani yogurt! Great flavor, not too sweet, good texture. Wish one of the many grocery stores closer to us carried the pineapple version.
