Atkins Advantage Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar
A few weeks ago I saw that one of my friends unwrapping an Atkins Advantage Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar. Initially, I scoffed, "Is that an Atkin's bar?" I asked with raised eyebrows. I trust this friend's judgment and was shocked that she would consume such a unappetizing, not to mention embarrassing bar. However, when she offered me a bite, I was blown away. This isn't a "nutrition bar." It's a Reese's Peanut Butter Bar. Hand on heart, this might be better than a Reese's.
I think they might have just packaged up a Reese's and sold it to me in another wrapper. Regardless, it's protein-loaded (19 grams!) and kept me tided over for a solid 3 hours, something which an ordinary peanut butter cup only dreams of.
Each 60 gram Atkins Advantage Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar provides 240 calories from 11 grams of total fat including 6 grams of saturated fat (17% and 30% of the daily value), 8% of the DV for sodium (180 mg), 19 grams of protein as mentioned before and 22 grams of carbohydrates which includes 10 grams of fiber and only 1 gram of sugar (and no sugar alcohols either). There is alos 15% - 25% of many vitamins and minerals.
The ingredients list is miles long and includes the artificial sweetener acesulfame K and sucralose. While the taste is fantastic, there is still a lot of calories and fat from this bar - although not much sugar. These bars con be purchased online at $24.99 for a 12-pack This makes it great as an alternative to candy - but not necessarily something I would eat as a regular snack.
