Triscuit Hint of Salt

Triscuit Hint of SaltYou're looking at a fan of Triscuits here, however, even I have to agree that my beloved Triscuit Thin Crisps can be quite salty for some taste buds (including my own from time to time). Therefore, when I saw Triscuit Hint of Salt, they seemed just simple enough to be fantastic.

If you have ever had a regular Triscuit, then note that nothing has changed with the texture and shape of these crunchy, woven masterpieces. They are a nice-sized, dense square of tightly woven strands of whole wheat held together by soybean and/or palm oil and seasoned with only a hint of salt - yes, there is a mere 3 ingredients what a shocker! I have come to find that products that utilize fewer ingredients to the fullest of their capabilities always come out on top (take De Wafelbakkers Buckwheat Berry Pancakes with Flaxseed as an example). The hint of salt makes for the ideal seasoning and is anything but overpowering ... it's basically perfect.

A 28 gram serving (6 Triscuit Hint of Salt crackers) provides 130 calories from 5 grams of fat, of which 1 grams is saturated fat (8% & 5% of the daily value), no cholesterol, 50 mg of sodium (2% of the DV), 3 grams of protein and 19 grams of carbohydrates, which includes 3 grams of fiber (12% of the RDA) and no sugar.

I paid $2.00 for Triscuit Hint of Salt on sale at Target and will definitely be back for more, sale or not. Pepperidge Farm Baked Naturals Wheat Crisps and Back to Nature Organic Stoneground Wheats Crackers have temporarily been pushed aside on my grocery list to make room for the deserving Triscuit Hint of Salt crackers (temporarily of course).

I completely agree! I avoid crackers for the most part, due to the high sodium content. However, I swear these taste saltier than the "normal" Triscuits and are absolutely delicious...great find.

I love everything Triscuit! That said, I have to reduce my salt intake because of blood pressure. I didn't know there was a lower sodium version, so I would love to pick these up.
