Kashi GoLean Waffles (Original)

Kashi GoLean WaffleI received a coupon in the mail forKashi Waffles, and I immediately went to the grocery store to buy a box. I saw the favorable review for the Kashi Heart to Heart Honey Oat variety, so I decided to try the Kashi GoLean Original Waffles. They're described as having a "hint of vanilla," which got me really excited - I love vanilla in most everything. One of the things I love about GoLean products is the combo of fiber and protein and as expected, the front of the box advertises 8 grams of protein, 6 grams of fiber, and only 3 grams of fat per serving.

I picked up my box for $2.99 at the grocery store, took it home and toasted up some waffles right away. I must say, the vanilla flavor was a bit strange for me, probably because I'm used to the eggy flavor of Eggo Waffles (on those rare occasions that I eat frozen waffles). But the more bites I took, the more I liked it. The waffles are very hearty, and they toast up to perfection. After eating 2 waffles, I was satisfied for a couple of hours, which is saying something for just 170 calories.

In addition to 170 calories, each serving of 2 Kashi GoLean Waffles (Original) offers no trans or saturated fats from the 3 grams of total fat (5% of the daily value), 330 mg of sodium (14% of the DV), 8 grams of protein and 33 grams of carbohydrates which includes 4 grams of sugar and 6 grams of fiber 6% (24% of tthe DV). Kashi uses a mix of wheat and whole wheat flours in he ingredients (more details at their website).

That's more protein and fiber than most other waffles will offer. Each box contains 6 waffles for the $2.99 purchase price and I'll definitely be buying them again, and trying the other flavors too. Try it with a little Smucker's Sugar Free Breakfast Syrup, Cary's Sugar Free Maple Syrup or Polaner Sugar Free Blueberry Topping.

I really really really want to this. Only one store left where I can try to track them down. Hope they've got 'em! (crossing fingers)

I keep seeing them and thinking about buying them. Thanks for the review! I'll have to try them next time I'm at the store. I am completely addicted to the blueberry ones.

The Walmarts around me always have them. They are really good but there is only 6 in a box compared to some other brands that give 8 in a box.

I like almost anything and everything Kashi. I get mine at Target. Good price on their waffles. I think $1.99 for a box (not sure if they raised their pries yet).

I love these waffles! Try them as an egg sandwich. I use egg beaters and put just a little bit of sugar free syrup on the waffle - SO DELICIOUS!
