Boca Bruschetta Tomato Basil Parmesan Veggie Patties

Boca Bruschetta Tomato Basil Parmesan Veggie PattiesWhen I saw Boca Bruschetta Tomato Basil Parmesan Veggie Patties in the grocery store, I knew I had to buy them. True, a 4-serving box cost me $5.49 (at the overpriced store near me), but I was willing to pony up the cash to try what could be a wonderful meal staple.

I popped one of these babies into the microwave as soon as I got home (literally). I nuked it for about 90 seconds although I knew cooking it in a pan would make it crispier and more delicious. But I was just so eager to try it that I didn't want to wait even that long. I took my steaming Boca burger out, put it on a plate, and prepared for pure deliciousness.

And I was not disappointed. The texture was chewy and delicious, and the taste was superb as well. The basil flavor came through, though not overwhelmingly so, and the tomato flavor was spot-on. The parmesan was a nice touch too, and I even got a gooey piece of cheese in one of my bites!

Each 71 gram Boca Bruschetta Tomato Basil Parmesan Veggie Patty provides 70 calories, 1.5 grams of fat, 0.5 grams of which is saturated (2% of the daily value), 290 mg of sodium (12% of the daily value), 10 grams of protein and 9 grams of carbohydrates which includes 3.5 grams of fiber (14% of the DV) and no sugar. There is also 15% of the RDA for calcium and iron. The ingredients are soy based (more details here).

The nutritional stats are so good that you could even double-decker your burger for fewer calories and less fat than a regular-sized beef burger patty. I'll definitely be buying these again - even at that high price. Try these for a nice twist on the traditional Boca Burger.

I am glad to know that these are good. I have been wanting to try them, but can't find them anywhere. I guess they will be worth looking a little harder for. Thanks for the review!

it's good to know these turn out even when you cook them in the microwave. i've found most soy-based patties get kinda mushy and gross if you don't cook them in a pan.

I love the burgers; I cook them in the microwave for 1 minute on each side. I'll have to try these as well...assuming I can find them.

Yes, I recently tried these and absolutely love them. They are so good. I pair it with Oroweat's Sandwhich Thins, lettuce, tomatoes, onions and sprouts for a great lunch. I now purchase these on a "regular" and they have become my "go to food" when I'm in a hurt need to grab something for lunch. Love your site by the way.

I actually "toast" these in my toaster over on foil lined pan. If I defrost them in my fridge first, then they toast up quick, if coming straight from the freezer, might take two toaster cycles.

Thanks for the giveaway! I love when I see a review for a product that is a reasonable price and available at most grocery stores. I've never been to a Whole Foods, Costco, Trader's Joe, etc. so it's cool when I can actually find the products at my local grocery store! I also appreciate when you put the prices.

Haven't tried Boca burgers yet. Sunshine burgers and Gardenburgers are pretty good too in my opinion.

Ooh! Haven't seen these. I do like the cheeseburger ones, though!
