Wyler's Light Lemonade Sugar Free Drink Mix

Wylers Light Lemonade Sugar Free Drink MixI'm a Crystal Light devotee, but I also like a good deal when I can get one, so when I saw Wyler's Light Lemonade Singles to Go at the grocery store on sale for just $2 for a 14-pack box, I couldn't resist. With the same low calorie count as Crystal Light - namely, 10 calories per stick - I was curious to see how the two drinks differed.

The first thing I did when I got home was to compare Wyler's Light to my Crystal Light Natural Lemonade, in terms of nutritionals and in terms of ingredients. Both have 5 calories per serving (10 calories per packet), but Wyler's has the edge on sodium, having just 30 mg per packet, compared with Crystal Light's 70 mg per packet. Furthermore, each Wyler's stick is supplemented with 40% of the RDA for vitamin C, whereas Crystal Light has none of the vitamin. The ingredient lists are pretty much the same as well; both are sweetened with aspartame.

In terms of taste, I found that the Wyler's Light provided a stronger, more citrusy taste. This means a lot to me because I usually add one packet to my 0.75 L Sigg water bottle, and the slight increase in flavor went a long way to adding a little something extra to the water.

I will definitely be buying this again - I found it later at Walgreens.com for $1 - and it may even take a prominent seat next to Crystal Light in my heart. (FYI: this also comes in a pink lemonade flavor that tastes pretty good as well).

Thanks for the suggestion. I think that another factor that will affect one of these on-the-go drinks is water quality. Crystal Light is AWEFUL when made with plain tap water. It goes bad much faster and has a metallic taste. I drink my Crystal Light with this really great processed water that prevents bio film and makes the taste of mixed drinks much better. http://waterprocessor.wordpress.com/
