Crispy Delites Red Onion Chips
I'm a huge fan of Crispy Delites Carrot Chips - they're salty, crunchy, and even somewhat sweet, all at the same time. I also love the idea of a pound of veggies in a single bag of crunchy snacks. I had yet to try the Red Onion flavor - to be honest, it kind of scared me as I'm not the biggest fan of onions - but I was curious, so it was the next flavor I purchased.
The chips looked oddly like those big shrimp chips some Asian restaurants serve and I was pleased to see that the bag was pretty darn full. I picked up one of the pieces and popped it into my mouth. As I chewed the crispy, salty chip, I realized I had been missing out on a whole lot by letting my fears get the better of me - these were great. They didn't taste too strongly of onion; instead, they were a bit sweeter and much more palatable than fresh red onions, and the saltiness and canola oil flavors were spot-on (the only ingredients are red onion, canola oil, and sea salt).
To make matters even better, each 30 gram serving provides 110 calories, 2.5 grams of total fat, 0.5 grams of saturated fat, 80 mg of sodium (4% of the RDA), 18 grams of carbohydrate which includes 3 grams of dietary fiber and 6 grams of sugar plus 3 grams of protein.
These are pretty much a nutritional powerhouse, packing protein and fiber, as well as vitamins and minerals, all for few calories and great taste. I highly recommend you pick these up for a new twist on the same old potato chip - I hope you'll like them as much as I did. At $1.39 for a 30 gram bag, this was so worth it.

Red onion is definitely and interesting choice of chip. I actually tried ketchup chips when I went to Canada once, and I have to admit I miss them here in the states! I work for a program called Chef's Diet, and if you ever want a break from the chips, we offer fresh foods prepared daily and delivered right to your door!
