Weight Watchers Smart Ones Key Lime Pie

Weight Watchers Smart Ones Key Lime PieWeight Watchers Smart Ones Key Lime Pie is described as a "Tangy Key lime custard in a graham cracker crust with whipped topping." Ordinarily I wouldn't even glance at such a rich looking dessert, but since it was "Weight Watchers" I decided that the nutrition facts couldn't be that bad, so it was worth trying - especially given my love of the key lime flavor. So far, the Key Lime flavored desserts have been a hit here on Iateapie.net - Silk Live Key Lime Soy Yogurt and Dannon Light & Fit Key Lime Yogurt, so I hoped this one wouldn't break the trend.

Each Key Lime pie comes in a little black plastic container similar to those used in frozen dinners. I was surprised by how small the pie was, but upon thawing, I enjoyed the tart creaminess of the pie and the graham cracker crumbs on the bottom. The whipped cream was also good, but the amount included was different on each pie. When it was more frozen than thawed, the key lime pie tasted sort of like a sherbet - still delicious though. I must say the flavor was spot on and I thoroughly enjoyed this yummy.

Each Weight Watchers Smart Ones Key Lime Pie dessert provides 190 calories from 4.5 grams of fat, 2 grams of which are saturated (7% and 11% of the daily value), 85 milligrams of sodium (3% of the DV), 4 grams of protein and 33 grams of carbohydrates, including 25 grams of sugars and less than 1 gram of fiber (more details on the nutrition facts at EatYourBest.com). That's a lot of sugar (the first ingredient is sweetened condensed milk).

I paid $2.25 for a box of 2 desserts at Kroger, which is not too bad. Since the key lime pie was tasty, I might go for this as the occasional indulgence, and when I'm feeling for a unique flavor - especially because of the portion control of having only 2 per container. Still, a 1/2 cup serving of "Slow Churned" or light ice cream would have slightly less calories and sugar - but I haven't seen a brand with Key Lime as a flavor yet.
