Walden Farms Calorie Free Ranch Dressing
Walden Farms prides itself on producing calorie free options of your favorite sauces, dressings, syrups and condiments. Ever one to cut calories where I can, a bottle of Walden Farms Calorie Free Ranch Dressing looked like it may be worth the $2.89 investment, considering 2 tablespoons of Kraft Ranch Dressing is 120 calories and Waldens Farms has 0 calories.
What I noticed when I first used Walden Farms Calorie Free Ranch Dressing, is that there is not much body to it. It is thicker than water, mind you, but is still pretty low on the viscosity scale. Also, the flavor could be stronger, although there is a nice subtle creamy ranch dressing taste. The artificial sweetener that is used is sucralose (Splenda) and I didn't detect any after-taste.
As is traditional with Walden Farms' products, their Ranch Dressing contains no calories, sugar, carbohydrates, gluten, cholesterol or preservatives. The ingredient list is not appalling and contains: triple filtered purified water, white vinegar, cellulose gel, salt, natural flavors, onion powder, garlic powder, sour cream flavoring (non dairy), lemon juice, white pepper, xanthan gum, lactic acid, parsley, cayenne pepper, food color and sucralose. The one thing you do have to watch is the 230 mg of Sodium (9% of the RDA) per 2 tablespoons.
Walden Farms Calorie Free Chocolate, Caramel and Marshmallow Dips were a big FAIL here on Iateapie.net, but it seems they improved a lot with this product. Walden Farms Calorie Free Ranch Dressing is a good option for those who are watching their weight and looking to cut calories without eating less - it's not spectacular, but it's good enough.

I've tried almost all the Walden Farms dressings and Ranch is the only one I avoid. It would do in a pinch but it just doesn't pull off that ranch flavor. The others, though? LOVE THEM. Favorites are the Bacon and the Italian. And the Coleslaw Dressing is delicious on broccoli cole slaw!
I've got to try these. I love salads, especially with a lot of dressing :P. So now I can feel less guilty using 0 calorie ranch dressing!!
I agree, I don't like the dips, and the mayo and PB spreads aren't good either. But the salad dressings? Love love love! My favorites are the honey dijon and sweet jersey onion.
The peanut butter is just disgusting. Really. It sort of tastes like butterscotch. And their jellies/fruit spreads or whatever they call them--just ridiculously bad.
It was a "Yay" for me until I heard about the sucralose. Bummer. But at least I know now.
Walden Farms products scared me. Too much "unknown" ingredients
Wouldn't you rather have a smaller amount of the real thing than some weird unknown concoction with flavorings/additives ingredients unbeknownst to you. Especially when they're just "flavored" like the real thing?
I have been trying a lot of the Walden Farms products. I like all the dressings so far, hated the PB.
